Building a strong foundation begins with an evaluation of motivation for greater purpose and an awareness of the fundamentals to your purpose.

Everyone gets to a place where they seek out their life purpose. This is the innate desire to find greater meaning and significance in order to live a life that counts. My passion is to see everyone live their lives according to its design. Psalm 139:16 states, “your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Do you want to know what were ordained in those days? Do you have a struggle finding out how to explore?

My father was a builder, so during my growing up years I watched him prepare to build homes and was always intrigued by the plans he used. There was a blue print that gave him directions to create each part of these structures. Failing to comply to the blueprint at times, led to major cost and more work to correct. Have you ever tried to make something and not follow the instructions?  What was the result?

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”

Divine Design Secrets

One of my greatest Sunday School memories is scripture memorization. Today the meaning of hiding God’s word in my heart means so much more to me now than it did then. I am so happy that they made it fun for us to do. We sang scriptures, we created actions and recited them, we marched to scriptures.. no wonder I can remember them now at moments I need to.

Here is my challenge to you for now, January 10, 2012 – February 10 2012:

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.

They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Interlude

Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air.

Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.

God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;

Unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.

The heart is a muscle, about the size of a clenched fist. It is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body, every second of every day. The circulating blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to the body’s organs and tissues, and drops off waste products to be filtered out by the kidneys, liver and lungs. The following is a description of how a “normal” heart works.

The heart is a muscle, about the size of a clenched fist. It is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body, every second of every day. The circulating blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to the body’s organs and tissues, and drops off waste products to be filtered out by the kidneys, liver and lungs.

The heart performs its task through the collaborative efforts of three components:

*The heart structure (the muscle’s chambers and valves)
*The electrical system (the signals that tell the heart to beat)
*The circulatory system (the blood pathways)

The Heart Structure

The heart muscle is divided into four chambers — the left and right atria (the upper chambers) and the left and right ventricles (the lower chambers). With each heartbeat, the atria draw blood into the heart and send it on to the ventricles, which push the blood out of the heart. Valves located between the chambers and at the ends of the ventricles, open and close like doorways to make sure the blood continues to move forward in the right direction.

The Electrical System

What keeps the heart pumping is a built-in electrical system. An electrical impulse generator, called the “sinus node,” sends signals from the right atrium to trigger the heartbeat, like a natural pacemaker. The electrical current follows a web of pathways through the heart, causing the chambers to squeeze and release in a steady, rhythmic sequence that draws blood into the heart and pushes it out.

The Circulatory System

Arteries are the vessels that carry “fresh” blood, rich in oxygen, from the left side of the heart to smaller vessels, called capillaries, throughout the body. Veins return “used” blood from the capillaries to the right side of the heart, which routes it to the lungs to pick up fresh oxygen. The fresh blood then returns to the left side of the heart, and the cycle repeats.

During each heartbeat, the heart contracts and relaxes. When your heart contracts, it pushes blood out of the two pumping chambers (ventricles). When your heart relaxes, the ventricles refill with blood. The term “ejection fraction” refers to the percentage of blood that’s pumped out of a filled ventricle with each heartbeat. When Things Don’t Work Together

Trouble in any part of the heart’s components can disrupt the entire system and lead to problems elsewhere. For instance, a clogged artery can cause a heart attack, which can damage a part of the heart muscle, which can disrupt the electrical pathway in the damaged area, which can cause a disturbance in the heart rhythm (an arrhythmia).

Keeping Things Running Smoothly

Keeping this interrelated system healthy is largely under your control. Following the commonly prescribed advice to eat well, exercise, avoid excess alcohol and refrain from smoking can go a long way toward maintaining good heart health. However, some heart problems can occur despite the best efforts to stay healthy. Ongoing research continues to lead to new medicines, procedures and interventions to help minimize heart problems and keep the whole system running smoothly.
